FIFA 16 Beta Corrupt Issues on PS4 Console
EA Sports is holding a closed beta for a select number of lucky gamers. However, there have evidently been some issues for some on PS4 and it sounds like they have all been linked to the always problematic Rest Mode.
The 15 GB closed beta for FIFA 16 is certainly a very large file for just a beta and the actual downloading of it is what seems to be causing the problem.
EA Sports has made players on PS4 aware of possible corruption problems when you allow your system to enter sleep/rest mode. There is a simple fix to this problem, and you basically have to make sure your PS4 won’t enter sleep mode while the FIFA 16 beta download is still progressing.
- You should not enter rest mode by pressing the power button on the system or by pressing the PS button on the controller and selecting rest mode
- You should ensure your Power Save Settings [Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Time Until PS4 Turns Off > General (Applications)] allow sufficient time for the download to complete or is set to Do Not Turn Off
- If the issue is encountered, hold the power button on the system until it turns off [do not tap it] then turn it back on
The issue seems to be isolated specifically to those who started their FIFA 16 closed beta download and then put their PS4 in Rest Mode. If you start the download remotely while your console is in Rest Mode, it supposedly should not be affected.
EA Sports says that it is important to make sure that you do not have your system set to go into Rest Mode automatically after a certain amount of idle time, because that could easily cause a problem with the FIFA 16 beta download, especially with it being this size.
